Adrienne L. Meddock was born in Oxford, Ohio in 1962. She received her A.B. from the University of North Carolina in 1984, and her J.D. summa cum laude from North Carolina Central University in 1991.

Dean Meddock teaches Property, Global Intellectual Property, Intellectual Property, Advanced Torts (Relational Injuries), and Entertainment Business Law. She has also worked closely with Carolina Dispute Settle Services in offering NC Superior Court Mediation 40-hour training in the evenings.  She is the coach for the Trademark Moot Court, winner of the 2001 and 2012 South Regionals in the INTA Saul Lefkowitz Moot Court Competition, and advisor for the Intellectual Property Law Society. In 2002, she earned a certificate from the General Course in Intellectual Property awarded by the UN’s World Intellectual Property Law Organization.  In 2010, her proposal brought the USPTO’s Pilot Clinical Program for Law Students to NCCU as one of the first 16 schools in the nation selected to participate.

She has served as the Assistant Dean for the Evening since 1994.  In 1998, she completed the UNC-sponsored University Management Training Program offered through Kenan-Flagler School of Business as one of the three NCCU academic managers so selected.  She has worked closely with accreditation reporting and assessment for the school.

Dean Meddock is a member of the North Carolina State Bar and the South Carolina State Bar (inactive). She serves on the Board of Directors of the Triangle Intellectual Property Law Association, and is a former board member for the Volunteer Lawyer for the Arts. She is a frequent presenter to artists and attorneys on intellectual property issues.  She is a member of the ABA, NCBA, INTA and AIPLA.

Dean Meddock was a touring member of an obscure 1980′s punk band “The Beef People” and a vocalist for “Bloom” from 1990-92, each of which produced limited edition recordings. She has also served as a disk jockey for college stations, booked bands and worked in record production and distribution.
